Background Panel

The background is an image used by Game Maker to provide a graphic as well as properties to define a tileset. GMare is no different in this respect. You can choose an image file to use as a background or you can choose an existing background in a supported Game Maker project file. Once the properties are defined, the background is ready for use on the room editor.

  2. Tile Paint Tool - Selects a single or multiple tiles from the background to paint onto the room editor. (Shortcut: P)
  3. Bucket Fill Tool - Selects a single or multiple tiles from the background to fill-in areas onto the room editor. (Shortcut: F)
  4. Selection Tool - Selects a single or multiple tiles on the room editor to move, copy, paste, delete, and make brushes from. (Shortcut: S)
  5. Tile Replacement - Replaces a target tile selection, with a replacement tile selection. (Shortcut: R) Details here
  6. Background Magnification - Magnifies the background from 100% to 500%. Good for smaller tiles.
  7. Background Tiles - The tile graphic derived from a background. These can be selected by the mouse.
