Layer View Tool

The Layer View tool allows you to view a layer's tile data in it's raw state, as tile ids. It also can show you the room tile data in various other ways related to Game Maker data types. You may want to use the text in the layer view to insert directly into a script or text file. Instead of using GMare's built in exporters. To get to the layer view tool, click Tools>>Layer View

  1. Layer - The selected layer to display tile data from.
  2. Data Type - This changes the text in different data types.

    • Points - Points display the tile id's as the upper left hand corner source point of a tile, in relation to the background tileset.
    • Rectangles - Rectangles do what the Points options does, but has a tile size added to the data.
  3. Array Type - Displays the tile data in raw tile ids or in different Game Maker data structures.
    • Raw - Displays the tile data as it would appear in raw numeric form, and not applied to any data structure or array.
    • Standard Array - Displays the tile data as a standard Game Maker array.
    • DSList - Displays the tile data as a standard Game Maker list data structure. Pro Only
    • DSGrid - Displays the tile data as a standard Game Maker grid data structure. (Only uses sector data type) Pro Only
  4. Text Editor - This displays the chosen options. You can select all the text or copy it to the clipboard.
